These 7 easy to crochet hats, scarves and mittens for the whole family are free crochet patterns and just in time for holiday gift making!

It’s no secret by now that I love making handmade gifts for my family and friends. I don’t always get to share with you the crochet patterns I’m working on at the moment because they’re gifts for my family members. And, believe it or not, they read my blog.

So, I have to be a little clever with my crocheting. If I know one of the kids are coming over, I can easily stash my crochet project in the bedroom closet. But, sometimes, they just appear and I have to scurry to hide things. Is it like that at your house, too?

Well, believe it or not, I have been busy crocheting hats, messy bun beanies and even scarves this year for Christmas. I just can’t share the patterns with you yet, but I promise I will! In the meantime, I have rounded up seven patterns to crochet hats, scarves & mittens for the whole family.

7 Easy to Crochet Hats, Scarves & Mittens for the Whole Family

I have actually crocheted all of the below patterns, with the exception of the mittens. They’re next on my list! So, take a look and see what you might consider for your next crochet project. And, yes, these patterns all work up pretty quickly. So, you still have plenty of time to crochet a hat, scarf or mittens in time for Christmas gift giving this year.

Red Heart Little Miss Pompom Hat

I have crocheted four of these adorable Little Miss Pompom Crocheted Hats so far this winter. They work up quickly and create such a lovely hat with all the beautiful texture.

Our granddaughters are four years old and they love their new Red Heart Little Miss Pompom Hats.  The first two I made for them were a little tight so I crocheted two more.

I even made my pompoms a little oversized. You could, however, easily omit the pompoms or maybe just add tassels to the hat strings instead.

Peppermint Houndstooth Scarf

I love this Peppermint Houndstooth Scarf from Crochet for You Blog. I actually have made a couple of scarves in different sizes and color combinations using the houndstooth stitch and I just love the way they’ve turned out.  I think the traditional black and white houndstooth is probably my favorite.

Crochet Cabled Messy Bun Hat (adult sizes)

Who says crocheted hats are only for children? This Crochet Cabled Messy Bun Hat in adult sizes from Jennifer at A Crocheted Simplicity is the perfect messy bun beanie for all the young ladies on your gift making list.
