Learn to Crochet a Christmas Stocking Ornament with this easy pattern. These crocheted Christmas stocking ornaments are easy to make and I'll walk you through every step!
I love to sit in the evenings and crochet while watching TV with my husband. So this past December, I spent my evenings crocheting Christmas ornaments (I'll share that tutorial soon). When I finished crocheting all the balls of ornaments, I decided to crochet some little mini Christmas stockings. Why? Because my adorable little mini candy canes needed a cozy little home!
(I also crocheted the most adorable little red and white beanies. They were so cute!)
But, back to these stockings. I crocheted some a little smaller, some a little larger, and some were "just the right size". And that is what I'm sharing with you today.
So, grab your yarn, crochet hook, darning needle, and scissors and let's get started!

Crochet Christmas Stocking Ornament
Honestly, I didn't know whether to call these "mini Christmas stockings" or "Christmas stocking ornaments". The latter won!
Video Tutorial
Of course, I put together this video tutorial that walks you through every step in real time. Feel free to watch it by clicking below or you can watch it in YouTube. While you're there, be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel! (THANK YOU!!)
Supplies
If you're a crocheter, you probably already have on hand all the supplies you'll need. I used Walmart's Mainstay acrylic yarns in red and white. But, you can use your favorite worsted weight (or any weight yarn you desire).
- worsted weight crochet yarn in red
- worsted weight crochet yarn in white
- scissors
- darning needle
- crochet hook
Instructions
We're gonna start the stocking by making a magic circle. If you need help with this, you can read this tutorial or watch this video on how to make a magic circle. You'll also need to know how to make a slip stitch, crochet a chain, and crochet a single crochet stitch. Easy, peasy, right?!
In fact, you can find tutorials on each of those right here on The Birch Cottage blog and videos on my YouTube channel.
