Valentine’s Day is just a little over three weeks away. And I am so excited to share my DIY Burlap Valentine’s Day Treat Bags tutorial with you. You all know how much I love burlap, right?! I’ve already shared quite a few burlap projects with you, like my DIY Burlap Gift Bags, DIY Fall Burlap Wreath, my Fall Burlap Give Thanks Pillow Cover Tutorial and I even shared my Easy Sew Burlap Placemats on Kenarry: Ideas for the Home {l o v e these placemats!}. Well, this little project has my name written all over it! And since Valentine’s Day is all about expressing our love, doing so with burlap seems to be the perfect way for me.
DIY Burlap Valentine’s Day Treat Bags
Supplies Needed:
- Burlap
- Thread for sewing bags
- Baker’s Twine or Ribbon
- Craft glue (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut burlap in strips (mine were approximately 16″ long by 4″ wide)
- Fold burlap in half
- Sew seams up each side
- Optional: Apply craft glue to sewed edges to keep burlap from fraying
- Starting at least an inch down from the top opening edge of the bag, pull out three or four, depending on the width of your ribbon, horizontal strands of burlap
- Turn the bag right side out
- Lace your thread or ribbon through the gap in the burlap that you just made by removing the horizontal strands
- Fill bag with treats
- Tie off and attach card
- Give to your sweetheart
Pretty simple, right? Here are the instructions with pictures:
