I love burlap. Just in case you hadn’t figured that out about me yet. In fact, I was in Jo-Ann Fabrics recently and purchased several yards of burlap, when the lady who had the privilege of cutting my fabric for me commented on how much she dislikes burlap. “It’s messy and sheds on everything!” she sighed. I told her that I know burlap is messy, sheds and even smells, but I love the look and texture of things made out of burlap. In preparation for Christmas, I thought I’d share some of my favorite DIY Christmas Burlap Table Runners.
Last week I shared with you all about some of my favorite things for the kitchen. This week, it’s all about my favorite burlap table runners; and, not just any burlap table runners, but DIY Christmas Burlap Table Runners. {I think Christmas Burlap Table Runners possess a certain Christmas magic, don’t you?}
I’ve made many things with burlap through the years. One of my favorite items are my burlap matted picture frames that Lenny’s grandfather made out of repurposed barn siding. I still haven’t shared those on the blog yet, but I will. I promise. I love them, so I have to share them with you! I also really love my burlap placemats. And, let’s not forget my Fall Burlap Wreath! Love it!
One of my other favorite burlap projects is my Shabby Chic Wood Block Picture Frames with Burlap Roses. Yeah, my block picture frames and burlap roses are something else on my list of things to share with you. I promise I’ll share those as well. I just need more hours in the day! But, back to today. Here are my six favorite Burlap Table Runners that I think are just perfect for Christmas or anytime!
DIY Christmas Burlap Table Runners
Burlap Runner with Tassels
On Sutton Place offers a great tutorial on her Burlap Runner with Tassels. I’m saying this project is perfect for burlap! Perfect, I tell ya. If you’ve been wanting to try out a burlap project, this just might be the project to try first.
DIY Burlap Table Runner {with Ribbon}
After I saw this DIY Burlap Table Runner with Ribbon project from Decor by the Seashore, I started thinking about all the different options with ribbon. Really the combinations for the burlap and ribbon are just endless! And no sewing required! Just use some Fray Block and scissors and you’ll have this project done in minutes!
Custom Monogram Burlap Table Runner
I didn’t actually find a tutorial for this Custom Monogram Burlap Table Runner, but I thought it was so elegant, that I just had to include it. There are lots of tutorials online on how to print on burlap, plus I have a tutorial right here on The Birch Cottage blog on how to print on burlap as well!
Pottery Barn Inspired DIY Burlap Table Runner
If you’re a Pottery Barn fan, then you’ve certainly seen their Burlap Table Runners. This Pottery Barn Inspired DIY Burlap Table Runner Tutorial from Ella Claire Inspired is easy to follow and requires no sewing! Although I love to sew, I realize not everyone does. Although Kristen does a great job with this tutorial, I think I’d add one more step and that is to add some Fray Lock around the entire perimeter of the burlap – just to keep things from fraying too much!
Easy Burlap Table Runner
Remember what I said about the burlap table runner with ribbon and how one idea just leads to another? Well, here’s another version of an Easy Burlap Table Runner with Ribbon from Sand and Sisal.
Hand-Painted Burlap Table Runner
If you’re feeling adventurous, you could give this Hand-Painted Burlap Table Runner from HGTV a try! I think it’s got Christmas and elegant written all over it.
So, there you have it. Six of my favorite DIY Christmas Burlap Table Runners. Which one are you going to make? Which one am I going to make?! I’ll be sure to share with you, when I get mine made! If you make or have made a burlap table runner, I’d love to hear about it!
Til next time…
