My favorite Dollar Tree finds January 2022. You can find all sorts of useful items at Dollar Tree to help you DIY!
Honestly, you really never know exactly what you might find at your local Dollar Tree. I went in looking for decorative napkins and wooden trays. But, came out with all sorts of other goodies. Including some snacks!

Dollar Tree Increases Prices by 25%
I also noticed that some items in the store were $1.25 instead of $1.00. Admittedly, I haven’t been to a Dollar Tree store since before Christmas because of Covid. So, I did a little investigating because I was curious about the increase in prices I saw on some items around the store.
Sure enough, Dollar Tree executives announced a price increase for all items throughout the store from $1.00 each to $1.25 each. That doesn’t seem like much, but when you consider it’s a 25% price increase – that’s significant.
You can read all about the Dollar Tree price increase in this article from CNN.

Dollar Tree Finds for January 2022
Like, I said, I actually was looking for these wooden trays and these floral napkins when I stopped in to shop at my local Dollar Tree.
I walked away with these finds:
Stretched Canvas Frames
These canvas frames were available in various sizes. I love to use them in reverse canvas projects.

Tag Wall Signs
These signs came in the X O designs you see on this page and in these adorable designs below.

Round Plastic Planters with Spouted Saucers
These planters were available in three different colors in the stores. They aren’t made of a heavy plastic, but I think they’ll still make for great little planters.

Galvanized Metal Oval Planters
I love using galvanized metal in and around our home. In fact you can read all about how to age galvanized metal here and how to stencil a galvanized pail here.

Terra Cotta Pots
And my very favorite flower pot is a terra cotta pot. I plan on using these little 3-1/2″ terra cotta clay pots in the above oval galvanized planter.

Glue & Residue Erasers
These little erasers are great for removing glue and residue from cardstock, plastic, and just about any surface.

Composition Books
I love these little composition books. They make for great journals, especially when you sew a pretty cover on the notebook.

Valentine’s Day DIY Words
These signs are made out of MDF, which makes them great little blank canvases for painting, decoupage, etc. As of this writing, these signs are out of stock online, but you may still be able to get them at your local store.

Squeeze Applicator Bottles
My husband uses these little 2 oz squeeze applicator bottles for holding oil finishes that he mixes up for his woodworking.

7-Day Pill Organizer
This 7-day pill organizer is super-sized. Perfect for organizing a week’s worth of medication. Especially for people like my husband who take a lot of medications and has large hands. I think this will be quite handy for him.

I also purchased a couple of six cup muffin tins and a plaster garden sign. I couldn’t find either item on the Dollar Tree website. There were plenty of Valentine’s Day decorations and cards, as well as miniature garden items, spring, and garden decor items. And, of course, plenty of Valentine’s Day themed candy.
I don’t know what the future holds for Dollar Tree. And even though I wasn’t happy about the price increase, I still think it’s a great store for finding some truly unique and inexpensive items that you can use in DIY crafts.

So, what’s your favorite Dollar Tree Finds in January (or any other month)? I’d love to hear about it! Just leave me a comment below.
Oh, and remember those wooden trays I told you I was looking for but didn’t find in the store? I plan on using them as mug rug holders. I hope to share a tutorial on both with you soon!

@Pamela Baker, Dollar General carries quite a few dollar items and I expect they will take some business from them. There are several dollar tree groups on Facebook that share projects. That gives dollar tree literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in free advertising every year!! Everyone shows their hauls and we would rush to buy. They needed to remember that!!! Sad, our prices went up 2 weeks before Christmas!! There was no consistency in when prices were raised. Our store put a sign on the door saying they were closing at 5 and boom, prices went up!! I don't spend half what I used too now!!

I know! It doesn't seem like much because we are talking about $0.25. But, when you consider it's a 25% increase, that's significant. For now, I'll keep shopping at Dollar Tree. But, who knows what the future holds?!

Our Dollar Tree also raised their prices but it's still the best deal for crafts and snacks.

Bonnie, you're right. When it quits being the best deal for crafts, that's when I'll look elsewhere. Hopefully, it doesn't come to that!
