Printable fish note cards for Dad! Whether you’re looking for a Father’s Day printable card or a collection of printable note cards that you can gift, these vintage fish illustration cards are just perfect for all the dads on your gift giving list!
You all know how much I love vintage botanical illustrations, right?! If your husband or father is anything like my husband, then he’s not crazy about flowers. Fish. Fish are definitely more attention getting than flowers to my husband. So, with my husband in mind, I’ve rounded up a few vintage fish illustrations courtesy of the New York Public Library’s Digital Collection.
If you’re not familiar with the NYPL’s Digital Collection, it’s a great resource that is part of the public domain. Another fascinating collection (besides botanicals) that you may be interested in is the Classic Illustrated Zoologies. Certainly you can find something in this collection that dad will just love! Or maybe the Pictures of Science collection is more his style.
Okay, back to my fish story……

The vintage fish note cards were created to be printed on 8-1/2 x 11 inch cardstock or paper and trimmed to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ folded). These cards will fit perfectly in an A2 envelope and are the perfect size for mailing, sticking in a gift basket or affixing to a gift package.
Once you print the fish note cards, simply cut along the solid line. You can purchase A2 envelopes at your local stationery store, paper supply store, crafting store like JoAnn Fabrics, Michaels or Hobby Lobby. You can even purchase them online on Amazon.

You can also read all about my recommendations on other sources for vintage illustrations in this post. As I’ve mentioned before these images are available for FREE as part of the New York Public Library’s public domain digital image collection. What this means, is that you can re-use these images without worry of copyright infringement. Pretty cool, right?
Even if your dad is color blind (or color weak), he can appreciate these vintage illustrations of fish. There’s just so much detail and each one is so different. These artists did amazing work!
I hope these vintage illustration fish note cards will help you with your Father’s Day gift giving. But, mostly, I just think it’s nice from time-to-time to create things with Dad in mind. You know, my husband doesn’t get near the credit he deserves. He’s really the one behind the scenes trying to make life better for our children (no matter how old they get), grandchildren and us.
I hope all the dads in your family have a fantastic Father’s Day! And, just maybe, these vintage illustrations will play a little role in your gift giving, too!
Til next time…
