As the parent of three children who serve or have served in the United States Military, Veterans Day holds a special place in our hearts.
I didn’t want Veterans Day 2018 to pass by without saying “thank you for your service.” If you or someone you love has served or is currently serving our Country, please extend our heartfelt “thank you”.
We know what sacrifices your service person and family have made simply because your loved one decided to serve their country. My husband and I are truly humbled and grateful.
We love America – with all its flaws – and are so very grateful to all who have served. Please accept these free military creed prints as a tiny little insignificant “thank you” from the bottom of our hearts.
Military Creed Prints

Soldier’s Creed Print
Because we have two sons who are also soldier’s, the Soldier’s Creed is displayed proudly in our home. Our oldest son Brandon is now serving in the Ohio National Guard and participating in the ROTC program at The Ohio State University. He is hoping to obtain his Bachelor’s of Science degree and re-enlist active duty as an Officer in the US Army.
Our son Phillip recently left the Army Reserves after serving active duty as a combat medic in the US Army. Although Phil never saw combat, he served his country with pride and was willing (and wanting) to serve.
To say we are proud of our sons, is quite an understatement. No matter what the future has in store for them, the Army has helped to shape them into the outstanding, dependable, self-reliant and caring young men that they are today.
It’s true what they say about giving the Army your boys and the Army giving you back young men. To the US Army, we say thank you for helping to instill such important values in the lives of our sons and for helping to make them better people in general. As our sons would say, “Hooah!!”
Sailor’s Creed Print
We share a lot about our sailor girl here on The Birch Cottage blog. Her career path never ceases to amaze us and we are equally proud of her and her accomplishments in the US Navy.
In fact, when our daughter was stationed on the USS Essex, we had the privilege of driving cross-country to visit her in San Diego. While in San Diego, we visited Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery. If you ever get to San Diego, you absolutely must visit this cemetery. There is an amazing view of the Sand Diego Harbor and it’s quite a humbling and somber experience.
Of all the places my husband and I have traveled, this cemetery stands out in our minds. We visited many, many tombstones that day. We spoke the names quietly out loud and left pennies behind out of respect and evidence of our visit. Just go there!
The Creed of a United States Marine
Marines are a special breed, wouldn’t you say? But, thank God they are! My dear friend Juanita’s son Drew served in the Marine Corps. The Corps helped shape this boy into an amazing young man. I have to admit that I was a little selfish when I heard he was enlisting in the Marines. Terrified actually. I’m happy to report he made it home safely.
But, like I mentioned above, so many of our young marines never do. My brother Rickey served in the US Navy as a Chaplain. He served with the Marines out of 29 Palms as their Chaplain. My brother saw combat and he witnessed young Marines dying in front of him. His life will never be the same.
The Airman’s Creed
I have a niece who served in the US Air Force. Like many young people who enlist in the military, the Air Force provided for a better life for her.
My sister and I had the privilege of visiting The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs when we attended the Wounded Warrior Games several years ago. Our brother participated in the events. Another amazing and memorable experience!
Creed of the United States Coast Guardsman
Believe it or not, I don’t know anyone who’s served or serving in the Coast Guard. They serve an important role in serving and protecting our coasts and are due our respect and gratitude.

How to Use the Military Creed Prints
I recommend printing the military creed on nice cardstock paper and trimming to fit an 8″x10″ frame. If you’re using a matted frame, you probably won’t need to trim the print.
