I’m sure most of you have probably seen videos on Facebook or around the web that shows you how to shred chicken, claiming you can shred chicken using an ordinary hand mixer. Well, I was a skeptic even after watching the video, so I had to give it a try!
Guess what? It works! IT WORKS PERFECTLY. Perfectly, uniformly, no burnt fingers kind of perfect. Yep. You can easily shred chicken using a handheld mixer. You simply cook your chicken breasts according to your favorite method. Then, while your chicken is still hot, remove it from the water and place it in a large mixing bowl. With your handy-dandy hand mixer set to low, you start shredding the chicken, increasing the speed as necessary.
The results? Perfectly shredded chicken and absolutely no burnt fingers. I was stupidly impressed. It’s such a simple idea that I wondered why on earth I hadn’t thought to try it before. In fact, I felt kind of stupid for not thinking of this clever idea myself.
But, wait! There’s more!
I am super excited that I was able to shred chicken with my hand mixer, but what if I could shred it with my stand mixer?? Hmmm…. So, I tried. Oh. My. Goodness. It. Works! I simply used the paddle attachment on my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and waa laa – perfectly shredded chicken again!!
So…. if the hand mixer and stand mixer will shred chicken, will they shred pork – as in pulled pork – or will they shred beef? Oh, yeah! They definitely will shred pork or beef – perfectly! Perfectly shredded chicken, pork and beef.
When I discovered this, I really felt quite clever! Because, after all, I am the funniest and most clever person I know! And now, I am sharing my knowledge with you! See how this works? I learn things, try new recipes, make things and even grow things and then I share my findings with you!
