Learn how to make a Small Gift Box with Wrap with your Cricut cutting machine. These gift boxes are so easy to make and I'll show you exactly how!

I needed a gift box for a pair of earrings that I was gifting a dear friend. I didn't want to put the earrings in a bag, so I turned to my Cricut Maker 4 and found the perfect little gift box project in Cricut Design Space!

Make a Small Gift Box with Wrap with Your Cricut

If you're a Cricut crafter, you probably have all the supplies on hand to make one (or ten) of these adorable Small Gift Boxes with Wrap.

You can use the same cardstock paper for the box as you use for the wrap or two complimentary or contrasting pieces of cardstock.

Instructions

Gather your supplies and tools and let's make these adorable small gift boxes with wraps.

Step 1: Trim the cardstock paper for your boxto 7.5"Hx12"W.

Step 2: Trim the cardstock paper for the wrap to 4"Hx12"W.

Step 3: Lay the cardstock for the box on the top portion of your mat and place the cardstock for the wrap on the bottom portion of your mat. Use your brayer to smooth out the paper.

Step 4: From Cricut Design Space click on Make.

Step 5: On the next screen in Design Space move the cut for the wrap to the bottom of the mat by clicking on the image of the wrap and dragging it to the bottom left corner of the mat.

Step 6: Then you will move the box to the wrap mat so that you can cut them both at the same time or on the same mat. Click on the outline of the box and when the three dots (...) appear near the top left of the image, click on the dots and select Move Object. Click on the mat you want to move the object to and click on Confirm. Then click on Continue.

Step 7: Follow the prompts to select your cutting machine in Design Space. Then load your mat in your Cricut when prompted to do so. Do't forget to press the flashing "Load" button.

Step 8: Load the scoring wheel in Clamp A. Then press the Go button. The machine will then making the scoring lines on the box and the wrap.

Step 9: Load the fine point blade in Clamp A and press the Go button. Your Cricut will then make the cuts in the cardstock for the box and the wrap. Then follow the prompt in Design Space and Unload the mat once the cutting is finished.

Step 10: Flip the mat so it is on top and gently remove the cut cardstock from the mat.

Step 11: Fold the box along the score lines and use your bone folder to crease the folds.

Step 12: Fold the wrap along the score lines and use your bone folder to crease the folds.

Step 13: Apply glue to the exterior portion of each of the tabs for the corners of the box and press in place.

Step 14 Once the glue has dried, insert the tab into the slit in the front of the box.

Step 15: Place the box inside the wrap with the slit facing forward.

Step 16 Insert ribbon through the slits in the wrap.

Step 15: Gently tie the ribbon into a bow.

Step 16: Your gift box is now finished and ready for gifting.

tip

Placing the mat upside down helps to keep the cardstock from curling when you remove the cut pieces from the mat.

What Cricut Cutting Machines can be used?

You can use any of the models of the Cricut cutting machines to make the small gift box.

What if I don't have a bone folder?

A bone folder is simply a tool used to create crisp creases and smooth folds in paper. If you don't have a bone folder you can easily use the handle of a spoon, credit card, or butter knife. You can even use a closed pair of scissors.

What is the finished size of the gift box?

The gift box measures 3-½"Wx3-½"Dx1-¾"H.
