Wondering where to find SVG files? Well, I’d like to introduce you to The Summery Umbrella where you’ll find original handlettered SVG files and printables.
The Summery Umbrella
Linda (LZ) Cathcart is the designer and creative artist behind The Summery Umbrella. LZ creates illustrations and patterns for gifts, home decor, fabric, and wallpaper. You’ll most likely see her work on items like vintage-inspired signs, sturdy coffee mugs and cards with eclectic quotes, curtains and bedding that bring the vibrant outdoors inside, and whimsical nursery decor to make every expectant mom swoon.
She also shares some of her favorite home decor and design ideas—often sponsored by major brands like Kohl’s, Lamps Plus, and Silhouette CAMEO® on The Summery Umbrella. In addition, she teaches sign making and offers an incredible library subscription service called Studio Pass that grants you access to her massive collection of vector and SVG art. Below is an example of some of the original SVG and printables available with a subscription.
In addition, you’ll find monthly freebies available to subscribers of “Rain or Shine” – The Summery Umbrella newsletter. Isn’t that title too cute?! I’m telling you, LZ is one incredibly talented and creative designer/illustrator/artist.

The Summery Umbrella Creative Team
Back in August, I received a little message from my friend Carrie at Kenarry: Ideas for the Home that her friend LZ was looking for contributors to her blog, The Summery Umbrella, and she thought of me. How sweet, right?! Well, when I saw her beautiful and original artwork, I just knew it would fit in perfectly with what I hope to share with you here on The Birch Cottage blog.
Although I share a lot of family friendly recipes and free printables galore, my heart desires to share more handmade gift ideas with you, like my favorite sugar scrub. Why? Because I hope to inspire you to make and give more handmade gifts and homemade goods. With a great resource like The Summery Umbrella’s Studio Pass, I’m sure to come up with ideas that you just might love, too, right?!
Having said that, I’m thrilled to now be a monthly creative contributor to The Summery Umbrella. You’ll find me over there the third Thursday of every month. Just wait until you see the fun project idea I have ready to share with you in October!
Now, stop what you’re doing and hop on over to The Summery Umbrella and at least sign up for her amazing newsletter. You won’t want to miss this!
Til next time…
