Printable Care Tags for Your Handmade, Crocheted or Knitted Gifts

I thought it would be nice to create a set of printable care tags for your handmade gifts. Since I’ve been sharing a Learn to Crochet series and encouraging you to make handmade gifts, I thought a set of printable care tags would be a nice added touch.

These care tags were designed so that you can simply print them out on nice card stock paper then attach to your handmade gift. I also think these care tags are a great way to inform the recipient on just how to care for their new handmade gift.

I made a set of three printable care tags for you:

1. Handmade with Love
2. Crocheted with Love
3. Knitted with Love

Sew (pun intended), whether you’re sewing, crafting, crocheting or knitting, you can use these care tags so the recipient will know how to care for their handmade gift appropriately.

I tried to think of what might be nice to be included on the care tags as I thought about sewing, crocheting and knitting. These care tags are the results of that short brainstorming session with myself. (I have these lonely sessions all the time!)

Laundry Care Symbols

The laundry care symbols used on the care cards are:

• Iron
• Hand Wash
• Machine Wash
• Do Not Wash
• Machine Dry
• Do Not Machine Dry
• Dry Clean
• Do Not Dry Clean
• Dry Clean Only

I felt like these would be the most commonly used care instructions, especially when we’re dealing with yarns.

Handmade with Love Care Tags

The Handmade with Love care tags read, “Handmade with love just for you.” The tags provide icons of the different fabric care symbols. Simply circle the symbols that apply to your particular project and sign your name.

Crocheted with Love Care Tags

The Crocheted with Love care tags also feature a space for writing in your fabric content, such as wool, polyester, cotton, etc. They also feature the same care symbols as the Handmade with Love printable care tags.

Knitted with Love Care Tags

Although I’m not a knitter (I tried once and would really love to learn how), I still wanted to create care tags for your handmade knitted items as well. Because, well, some of you knit!

The Knitted with Love care tags feature the same design as the Crocheted with Love care tags and the same care symbols. There’s also space to write the fabric content.

Where to Find Fabric/Fiber Care Instructions

In case you don’t know, when you purchase yarn, you’ll find the fibre content right on the back of the label, along with how to care for that yarn or fiber. Likewise, when you purchase fabric, it contains information on the end of the bolt about the content and care of that particular fabric.
