How to Print Vintage Winter Art Prints

Once you purchase and download the PDF print, you can use paper, cardstock, or even watercolor paper to print your vintage winter art prints at home.

Don’t have a home printer? No problem. Let someone else do the printing for you! You can use online print services like Canva, VistaPrint, Shutterfly, Minted, Mpix, or even Snapfish or my personal favorite – Prints of Love. You can even use Walgreens, CVS, Office Depot, Sam’s Club, or even Walmart or Target to have your vintage art prints printed for you.

How to Add Texture to Your Prints

If you want to elevate your print to make it look more like a painting instead of a picture you printed, you can do so by adding texture to your print.

There are a couple of different ways to add texture. The easiest, and the one I am most familiar with, is to apply matte Mod Podge to your print. You’ll find an easy tutorial here from Erin Zubot Design.

The second method is to apply a medium to your print, such as Golden Gloss Gel Medium. Both the Mod Podge and the Gel Medium leave behind brush strokes. My tip for using either is to apply thin coats. And start from the top left corner and work your way down towards the bottom right. That is, of course, assuming you are right-handed. If you are left-handed, you’ll want to work from the top right and work your way down towards the bottom left.

I also recommend that you do not print your prints on glossy photo paper. You’ll want to print them on heavy paper, watercolor paper, or even have them printed on canvas or foam board. Plus, these other papers will also add texture to your prints.

How to Frame Vintage Winter Art Prints

Have you ever been to an art museum or gallery? And did you notice that the paintings do not typically have glass on them? Well, the same could be true for these prints. Especially if you add texture to your prints or have them printed on canvas or foam board.

Simply pick a frame that is appropriate for your print and home decor style, remove the glass, and frame the print.
