I am all the time telling the kids that I’m going to run away from home with their dad. So, this past Spring break, that’s exactly what we did. We ran all the way to beautiful, sunny, relaxing and welcoming Puerto Morelos, Mexico!
Located in the Yucatan peninsula, midway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, you’ll find Puerto Morelos to be the perfect tranquil spot. With long white powdery soft beaches, this charming village offers a little bit of everything. But what we loved most about “Puerto” was the slower pace.
Although this laid back fishing village is just 20 minutes south of Cancun, it’s the perfect spot to just get away from it all. Slow down. Relax. Breathe. Sun. Snorkel. Dive. Scuba. Fish. Swim. Eat. Drink. Relax.
If you’re looking for an all-inclusive type resort, Puerto Morelos is not your kind of place. However, if you’re looking for someplace with beautiful beaches, lots of sun, good food, activities – if you feel like it, a gentle breeze, breathtaking sunrises, and, of course, the Caribbean sea at your disposal, then Puerto is for you!
I plan on sharing more of our photos and even some reviews of the local businesses, restaurants and hotel where we stayed. If you’re planning a vacation/holiday to Mexico, you just might want to come back so you can see what Puerto Morelos has to offer. Lenny and I loved it and it was just the perfect place for us to run away from home to.
