The Logan County Farmers Market Farm Tour Day is being hosted this year by Stonyfield Farm Orchard in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on Saturday, September 25, 2016 from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. Farm Tour Day at Stonyfield Farm Orchard will include not only a walking orchard farm tour, but will also feature hayrides, apple tasting, apple butter tasting, free apple infused food, quilt show and live bluegrass entertainment.
Stonyfield Farm Orchard Hosts
Dwight and Bonnie Hansen are the owners of Stonyfield Farm Orchard and the gracious hosts for the 2016 Farm Tour Day. Stonyfield Farm Orchard is a 72 acre farm with 20 different varieties on 1,000 apple trees. That’s a lot of apples! Some of the varieties of apples that will be available for tasting and purchasing are: Jonathan, Macintosh, Macoun, Golden Delicious, Sansa and Jona Golds. Bonnie tells me there may also be limited availability of Honey Crisps – my personal favorite!
Stonyfield Farm Orchard Farm Tour
This Farm Tour is loaded with good family fun with its lively entertainment, freshly picked apples, delicious treats and, let’s not forget, hayrides! But, wait! That’s not all Dwight and Bonnie have in store for you!
You’ll also find all their apple farm equipment on display. In fact, I have it from a pretty good source that the hayrides will be pulled by a 1937 John Deere A tractor. So, you see, there’s a little something for everyone!
Still, that’s not all! Just wait until you see the quilts! I’ve seen just a glimpse of some of the craftsmanship and I’m just in awe. Jealous. But, in awe nonetheless. Bonnie says they will have over 25 quilts on display.
