Repurposed China Succulent Planter
I am in love with vintage botanical prints. Thanks to the New York Public Library’s digital collection (among numerous other sources), there are literally thousands of pages of original vintage illustrations that have been made available for download and personal use under public domain rights. You can read all about vintage botanical illustrations and where to find them in this post. Simply search, download and print an entire collection as a gift for the moms on your Mother’s Day gift giving list!
I could go on and on listing various projects I’ve shared here on The Birch Cottage, but hopefully, these will give you an idea and maybe inspire you to give something handmade for Mother’s Day.
I can’t possibly share a post with you today without mentioning the fact that it is my Dad’s birthday. Although my dad wasn’t always the nicest person, he became a much kinder, gentler version of himself. My mom passed away when I was only 18. Although I loved my dad dearly, he was “not very nice to my mom”. I often wondered why she ever stayed with him. She obviously saw something in him that we did not. I like to think that we got to see a glimpse of the man my mom saw! I’m just really sorry that she didn’t get to live to see her knight blossom into the man she always knew he was. Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you always!!
You know what? I’m starting to see a theme here with my Mother’s Day gift ideas: flowers, flower pots, DIY, handmade gifts…. Gifts any mom would like! Be sure to stop by Kenarry: Ideas for the Home to get this super easy Mother’s Day gift idea!
