Mason Jar Cozy
I have to confess! This Mother’s Day creative idea is right up my alley and came about as a solution to a problem. I drink out of a Mason Jar with a
I Heart Nap Time and A Pretty Cool Life and I also liked some that I saw that had a button closure.
So, I decided to use a little of both ideas and come up with my own pattern. This was my first attempt and I wish I had allowed for an overlap of the fabric. I was a little concerned about adding unnecessary bulk, but now that I’ve made the cozy, I don’t think the bulk would be a a big deal.
Also, instead of using Velcro, like the cozies from I Heart Nap Time, I used elastic and a button. I have a thing for buttons and anytime I can find a way to incorporate old buttons into a project, I’m a pretty happy girl. I made my Mason Jar Cozy out of some scrap material I had and insulated batting that I purchased from JoAnn Fabrics.

These are cute! I am definitely considering collecting Mason Jars to use in our new house. There's not much space where we live in right now though so I can't hoard them right now. Hahaha.

Fun idea! I wouldn't have thought about drinks not staying cold in a Mason Jar!

Typically, the drink doesn't last very long. But, sitting on my desk, sometimes I just get too busy and hours pass by and, sigh, my drink is no longer cold. This has extended the chill factor quite a bit!
