The Mom Binder is a great way to preserve you children’s masterpieces! The Mom Binder printable pages will help you organize and preserve your child’s school papers, artwork, masterpieces and important milestones.
When our oldest daughter started kindergarten, I wanted to keep every piece of paper she brought home from school! Her little works of arts were masterpieces to me and just as priceless. Well, it didn’t take long until the refrigerator was covered, my file folder was filled, then the file cabinet drawer was full, then the storage tote was full, then two storage totes were full.
I just couldn’t stand the thought of discarding anything she made with her own two little hands. Then three years later her sister started kindergarten and, again, I wanted to keep every piece of paper she brought home from school. But, it wasn’t only school papers that I considered priceless pieces of art! W, we’d take the girls to Sunday School and they would make even more masterpieces for me to treasure (hoard).
It didn’t take too many years before my hoarding of my girls masterpieces became a problem. When our son started school, I knew it was time to let go some of the girls papers. So, I literally sat down and went through every sheet – pictures, paintings, artwork, ABC’s, writing sentences, etc. I was really proud of myself because I only kept a few pages from each school year and was determined to keep each child’s keepsakes downsized.
Well, by the time our fourth child started school, I was a pro at not keeping all her papers. As a parent, it’s really hard. But as someone who hates clutter, I knew it was for the best. In fact, all of our youngest daughter’s school papers fit nicely in a couple of file folders – and that’s after 13 years of school!
I kept telling myself I was going to go through all those papers and put a scrapbook together for each of our kids. Never happened. As each of our older children grew up, got married and began having children of their own, I passed those boxes of school papers along to each of them – keeping only a few for myself.
A few years ago, I ran across a “Mom Binder” at one of my local craft stores. I remember thinking it was such a great idea. I know not all papers that you might want to keep will fit nicely into a sheet protector, but most of them will!
The Mom Binder
Here’s the idea behind The Mom Binder. You simply save all your child’s important school papers, pieces of art, and any other keepsakes in a 3-ring binder. Fill your binder with sheet protectors and insert your child’s papers into the sheet protector.
I’ve put together the following pages for your Mom Binder:
- Mom Binder Cover
- Mom Binder Spine
- Quote Page Divider – A Child is a Treasure
- Quote Page Divider – Children Are a Blessing
- Photo Journal Page – Blessing
- Photo Journal Page – Treasured Memories
- Treasures From Page
I’ve saved each page in a PDF Format and you can print as many copies of each that you’d like to incorporate in your binder. Simply click on the page title above and you’ll be taken to Box where you can download the file for printing.
I hope you’ll find The Mom Binder a useful way for you to organize and store your child’s keepsake papers, artwork, masterpieces and important milestones. And maybe you can take a lesson from me and not keep every masterpiece. No, you won’t be a horrible mom if you don’t keep everything. Trust me!
Til next time…
