Three New Gifts or Three New Tools
I received three new gifts for Christmas and I’m having a hard time figuring out which one to tackle next. Tackle? Yep! I say tackle because each gift comes with a learning curve. You’ll understand as you read on. The first gift I actually received as an early Christmas present and it was a Brother HC1850 Computerized Sewing Machine. I absolutely L O V E my new sewing machine. It made my last minute gift making a breeze. Really. I love it! But, I actually received three new gifts and the Brother Sewing Machine was just one of them.

Brother HC1850 Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine
My Brother sewing machine has 130 Built-in Stitches, 9 Presser Feet, Sewing Font, Wide Table, and Instructional DVD. For Christmas this year, I made the twins Raggedy Ann dolls. The dolls turned out just adorable and the twins loved them! I do love this sewing machine. Granted, I’ve only been using it a couple of months, but already it’s managed to renew my love for sewing. Love it!
We found a great deal on Amazon for this sewing machine. The following link is an affiliate link and I may receive compensation if you follow the link and purchase the sewing machine. But, the purchase of the sewing machine, the opinion and the fantastic results are all mine! Having said that, here’s the link to the sewing machine on Amazon: Brother HC1850.
Swoon….. I really am in love with this machine. It’s fast, easy to use and some great features that I’ve lived without for centuries (small exaggeration). I’ve never owned a sewing machine as nice or as feature-rich as this machine.
Well, my second gift of my three new gifts I received for Christmas was a…..
Singer Professional 5 Serger
I know, right! Who gets these kinds of gifts for Christmas? Apparently, I have the best Santa in the whole wide world! I haven’t even used my new Singer Professional 5 Serger yet. I’ve printed the instruction book and watched a couple of YouTube videos, but that’s it. (I’ve actually been feeling rather under the weather this past week and just haven’t felt like doing much of anything. I think if I can just sleep all the time that eventually I’ll wake up and all my aches and pains will be gone!)
So, now I’ll be looking for tutorials on how to use my new serger. I have plenty of projects in mind – like making slipcovers for our sofa and quilts and…. the list goes on! Here’s the link to the serger machine on Amazon: Singer Professional 5 Serger. Although we didn’t buy my serger brand new from Amazon, we did buy it in new condition – complete with everything except the CD.
I just know you’re going to flip over this third super fantastic creative gift that I received for Christmas this year.
Cricut Explore Air Wireless Electronic Cutting Machine
I really am amazed at what all the Cricut can do. I really think it’s going to save me a lot of time when it comes to hand lettering, among many other things. There’s a great article over on Vintage Revivals where she talks all about how and why she switched from Silhouette to Cricut. Of course, if you’re interested in purchasing a Cricut Explore Air, it is available for purchase on Amazon.
So, there you have it my three new gifts or three new creative tools I received for Christmas this year. Aren’t they amazing?! I’m still stunned. I’m truly blessed to have my own personal Santa. My Lenny really is a very gracious and giving man. I actually have to be very careful about telling him I want something because once he hears it, it’s a done deal.
As I learn more about each of these new tools, I’ll be sure to share tutorials and projects, as well as insight and tips-and-tricks. If you use any of these machines, I’d love to hear about it! Especially if you have some tips to offer, that would be just great!
Til next time…
