Spring is not only the time when the weather begins to warm up and flowers begin to bloom, but it’s also a time when families move. It’s also a time for growing families to move into their new homes. I remember when I bought a house in a fairly new subdivision years ago, my neighbors introduced themselves and welcomed me to the neighborhood with small gift baskets, a bottle of wine or just a friendly “welcome neighbor.”
The gifts weren’t necessary, but they did make me feel more comfortable in my new surroundings. As I was thinking about this kind gesture this week, I had to ask myself when was the last time I did something so thoughtful for a new neighbor. Boy, I had to go back a ways in my memory.
